Catherine Goode

Praised for her “silvery bright soprano” (Houston Press) and "delicious interpretation" (Arts Louisville), coloratura soprano Catherine Goode has performed with regional opera companies including Opera in the Heights (Houston), Kentucky Opera, Opera Birmingha, Central City Opera, Salt Marsh Opera, Opera Columbus, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Virginia Opera. Most notably, she was a participant in Merola Opera Program’s 2021 summer season. She has had competition success in numerous states, including being named a 2025 Giulio Gari International Vocal Competition and a 2020 Region Finalist for the Laffont Competition—Great Lakes Region. An avid performer of new music, Goode recently commissioned four songs and two song cycles from living female composers. A native of Friendswood, Texas, she will complete her DMA at the University of Michigan in May 2026 and holds degrees from the University of Houston and Michigan State University.
