Jennifer Heder
Dr. Jennifer Heder is the Director of Choral Studies at Fresno City College. Prior to her appointment at FCC, she received her DMA in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University. Dr. Heder’s research is focused on decentering Eurocentric music in the choral classroom, efficient rehearsal planning, and exploring the works of lesser-known composers. Recently, her ensemble at Fresno City College was invited to perform at the 2025 California All-State Music Education Conference. She currently serves on the California Choral Directors Advisory Board. She has presented interest sessions at the 2024 and 2022 Western ACDA Conferences on multicentrism and programming for choral ensembles. Previous to her studies, Dr. Heder was the director of choirs at Spanish Fork High School in Utah, where her choirs were invited to perform at the ACDA Utah Conference in 2018 and the Utah Music Educators Association Conference in 2019. She also holds Choral Conducting (MM) and Choral Music Education (BM) degrees from Brigham Young University in Utah.
